WEXFORD PUBLIC, OH WHAT A TREAT!!

I love good restaurants and good food. To me, a great dining experience starts with people, and a good restaurant that cherishes its patronages understands this.

SO what place am I talking about? WEXFORD PUBLIC, in Wexford, PA. My family LOVES, everything that that JEWELL of the place has to offer. There are restaurants that serve food, and then there are restaurants that serve feeling, the place where hospitality begins the moment you walk in and lingers long after the last bite.

Melanie, Chef John’s wife, is the powerhouse behind the scenes, ensuring the rhythm of the restaurant never falters. Assistant Manager Victoria greets guests with a radiant, ear‑to‑ear smile that makes you feel like you’ve arrived somewhere special and sets the tone with warmth and ease. It’s the kind of welcome that tells you: you’re in good hands tonight. Servers like Alec elevates the experience even further. Having worked with Chef John for years, he carries a genuine admiration for the chef’s craft, and it shows in the way he talks about the menu, the ingredients, and the stories behind each dish.

And then there is the Chef John himself, not just any chef, He is the maestro of flavors. His cooking is driven by passion, intention, and a deep respect for ingredients. There’s no hiding behind heavy sauces or over plated dish. Instead, every dish feels honest, thoughtful, and alive with flavor. With each bite you take, you feel that the food is made from the heart. You just want to devour it and then once you are done, and you have finally put your cutlery down, you want to lean back, lick your lips like a satisfied cat, and think, Darn, that was good.

From Onion Rings that are crispy and golden just right and quite addictive to the Cheese Sticks, elevated comfort food done right; Tuna Poke that gently lays on top of crispy wontons and freshly balanced and beautifully composed with scallions and avocado, and then there is a standout dish that showcases Chef John’s mastery of flavors, the Big Eye Tuna.

And as you scan the menu, you cannot help yourself wanting to order more than you can eat.

And did I mention the bartenders? Shannon and Mike. Go ahead, try their “Paper Plane” a must try, bright, balanced, and downright delicious. AND PLEASE let me know what you think? YUM.

Whether you’re seated at the bar watching the crystal shakers dance, or at a table eagerly awaiting your drink on a small round tray, the anticipation is intensely high.

From the first bite to the last, the food at Wexford Public is the kind that makes you pause, savor, and then immediately crave another forkful. Together, Chef John and Melanie, created an atmosphere where excellence feels effortless.
