LO MEIN WITH VEGETABLES
Servings 6
INGREDIENTS:
· 1 Package of Lo Mein Noodles or any Japanese or Chinese noodles you prefer.
· 2 Onions, sliced bite size
· 2 Carrots, peeled not cut
· 2 Bell Peppers, thinly sliced by angle
· 3 C Broccoli, sliced bite size
· 10 Mushrooms, sliced
· 1 C Fresh Herbs, chopped Cilantro or Parsley
· ¼ C ++ Low Sodium Soy Sauce
· 2 Tbs Olive Oil
· 2 Tbs Sesame Oil
· 2 Tbs Oyster Sauce or Fish Sauce
· 2 Tbs Sesame Seeds
· 1 C Wonton Strips
SUPPLIES:
Chopping board
Knife
Medium size boiling pot
Wok or Large frying pan
Tongs or mixing spoons
DIRECTIONS:
1. Cook noodles as suggested on a package.
2. In a wok or a large frying pan, add olive oil and soy sauce. Once the pan is hot, sauté carrots and onions. Make sure the vegetables are well coated with oil mixture. Cook for about 10 minutes.
3. Add broccoli, mix well with other veggies and cook for about 7 more minutes. If needed, add more say sauce and add oyster sauce.
4. Add bell pepper, cook till barely soft and add mushrooms. Sauté for another 7 minutes and add noodles. Make sure noodles and vegetables are well mix together, sauté for a few more minutes, make sure the dish is warm.
5. Right before turning the wok off, add herbs. When serving, add sesame seeds and wonton strips on top of each serving.
